So still want to stay here? said the guy Soon the two walked through the portal, soon they walked into the future, what is this place? Asked Ranger this the guy said is the future wow it looks like a war zone. Yep. Spoke the man we are in the middle of a war lets go get you armed. My name's Jock. Cool! said Ranger. Soon they walked through an abandoned building, he pressed a few buttons and a door opened and they walked in, what is this place? asked Ranger. This said jock is the headquarters of the “U.N.S.C.” said jock. “Like in halo?” Asked cyber. Yes," said jock. “No wonder your armor looks like the armor of a spartan.’ Soon they were greeted by a man ‘’is this the guy ‘’? asked a man. “yep “said jock. The name is General Jeff. These robots have been attacking a lot. They started attacking us on March first. Now, let’s get you some armor. Soon a boom rang out, robots? asked Jock. No, dragons. Said Jock. “cool” suddenly a metal claw tore through the roof. Soldiers started shooting pew! Bam! Lookout! Ranger ran grabbed a rocket launcher and fired. The robot exploded into circuit pieces. “Training starting now!” Rachel said. “In line.” Flame added. “lap around town then we split into groups!” Mark finished and a girl raised her hand and Frost nodded. “Don’t we do that every day?” the girl asked. “well… yes?” Rachel said confused. But before she could continue an ice spike raced past her and landed half in the ground at the feet of the student. “We do it every day because repetition is good.” Frost said crossing his arms as he shook his head, his ice blue hair leaving mini snowflakes in its wake. The student went quiet. “o-…-k” Mark said feeling the same as everyone else and some of the students shifted around uncomfortably. “well. Start lap” Mark said, and everyone left as Flame walked over to Frost giving him the “Mother look” “Frost! That was almost child abuse!” Flame said “but it wasn’t” Frost said before giving the slightest hint of regret before it disappeared but for Flame, which was a big achievement. When everyone got back, they split into groups. “movements, fallow me!” Rachel said and ¼ of the group fallowed. “all fire kids! Fallow the fire pro!” Flame said happily and one-third of the remaining kids left with her. “all spell casters. Come with me.” Mark said and walked down a hallway as ½ of the class fallowed. Everyone crowded into a room, at the front was a big stage that covered the entire wall, on the left side were a set of window doors that lead to the Arcano river. In the back was the door, and on the right wall was a set of bookshelves. “attention!” Mark said into a microphone behind a podium on the stage, the podium had two books on it, one was a spell book, and the second a notebook. The class continued to talk, and Mark sighed. Mark picked up the spell book and dropped it on the podium. Silence. “Good” Mark said. Does everyone have their notebooks? Take them out. We are going to take some notes. Mark said as a student raised his hand. Mark sighed, “yes Tom?” Mark asked aloud, but he know what Tom was going to say. “I don’t have a pencil.” Tom said and Mark sighed. “Ria’Fo’Tuo’Reznoc.” Mark mumbled and his eyes turned white, so did the air around Tom as a pencil appeared. “Next time. Bring a pencil.” Mark said still shaken by the spells power and how much energy it took. He should not even know the spell. Meanwhile Frost was watching his students attack stone dummy’s his hand behind his back and his sword at his waste, “Remember to bring you ice into your attacks.” Frost said before turning to his own dummy and doing several swift attacks before turning back to the students and walking around. When time was up Frost called everyone to him “ok. Now to stealth.” Frost said hands behind his back and his usual poker face on. “we pick between hide in the shadows or sneak on the roof tops.” Frost said. In the end. The class had picked roof tops. Frost had walked over to a pool of water and froze it shaping it into a ladder and climbed up, while the others fallowed. When Frost got to the top, he decided to watch Marks class before going and helping Rachels. When everyone was up, he had them fallow him to a roof window that was just over the stage. As he moved over to the window, he investigated the “study hall” as Rachel called it. Then he quickly moved back so a red headed student did not see him. by Aquila Wu Dragons do not exist because they do not apply the laws of physics. First a reptile cannot have 6 limbs or else it would be an insect. So, most of the dragons that are made must have 4 limbs to be real. The next thing that can fly needs a keel (Except bugs). A keel is a bone that supports a bird or whatever is wings so that it can fly. Next is the wings. A thing that can fly needs wings that are bigger than its body so it can support gliding in the sky. For example, a penguin has a keel, but its wings or to small so they cannot fly. If it can, they must flap their wings at a speed of more than 100 miles per hour. Next is size, if a dragon is big, it cannot get enough oxygen to live the world that is so tiny (to a dragon). Also, if there were other dragons there would be even less oxygen the whatever was left. And if you are so big when you take a first step the power of gravity would snap your legs off. So, dragons cannot live in this world. by Dylan Wyatt
As Mark sat at his desk his eyes wandered to a picture, it was of him and his sister, Magic. He closed his eyes and sighed I need to stop thinking about Magic… Mark thought as the door opened and 2 people walked in. One was Rachel, and the other was Lisa, the librarian. “I hope it’s all right we let ourselves in” Rachel said taking a set in one of the black leather chairs and putting her feet on the table, leaning back in her chair. “It's fine” Mark said aloud but inside he would have rather had them knock. “Good” Rachel said as Lisa sat down in the chair and crossed her legs looking at Mark seriously and Mark checked his poster. Then Lisa began. “If the thief is Magic, we have evidence for and against it.” Lisa started and Mark tensed up on the topic of Magic. “I must be her.” Mark said before nodding at Lisa and she continued. “Like I was saying… I cheeked the computers… there is no evidence of her even signing up to join the school of magic… and if it is Magic…” Lisa bit her lip like she was not sure she should share this… Her attitude made Mark want to know it even more. “I looked at her birth card… And magic has an insane amount of…Magolots (Maj-oe-lot: the particles that decides how much magic you have)” Lisa paused again. “She has as much as… The gods…” Lisa said hesitantly, and Marks eyes widened. “Th-the gods?” Mark stammered, not sure if he had heard correctly. But Lisa nodded and Mark could not believe it. “And legend says, not only did the gods except magic… But they self-taught themselves. They made up each type… And they… They changed the world. There is an old legend…” she said then paused. “The chosen one will be picked by the gods at birth and connected to them she shall be. Though she alone cannot save the world. 6 more warriors will join her quest and together. They will save the world from the darkness that threatens to drown it” Lisa said as if reciting a poem. “So, you think that the thief is Magic, that she self-taught herself magic, she is the chosen one, and that she’s going to save the world?” Mark almost shouted and Lisa nodded. Rachel looked at the clock and turned to Mark and Lisa. “Ok, time to calm down. Me and Mark need to go. We will see you in the library.” she said, standing up and Mark hesitantly nodded. “good” Rachel said after Lisa nodded as well. “Come on Mark” Rachel said leaving and Mark fallowed. Rachel and Mark were walking down the hall when they heard a high-pitched voice behind them say. “Wait up!” and they both turned around to see 2 people. One was running at Rachel. “Flame! Frost!” Rachel said and flame ran into her almost knocking her over. “You show too much emotion” Frost said walking up-Frost was their resident spy-, his hands in his packets and a katana on his back. He and Flame wore the same uniform as Mark and Rachel did. Flames face reddened as she turned to Frost. “Well, you show to little emotion!” flame said then added. “Poker face” and Frost rolled his eyes at this but stayed straight faced. “Come on! Let us not be late!” Rachel said and everyone followed. by Sebi Blackman Tony Hawk is my role model so let me tell you a little bit about him. Tony Hawk was born on May 12, 1968. As a child he was very light but even, so he was able to complete a trick that needed lots of weight. As he got older, he got famous and earned lots of money. One day one of Tony’s buddies went out and got him and his friend’s credit cards unfortunately they didn’t know you had to pay the money back, and they went broke. Later as a grownup that’s when he a bunch of crazy stunts like skateboarding loops soon he got so famous they made video games like this one Tony Hawk still rides today and has done some crazy stunts like flipping over a jeep. Personally, Tony Hawk is the greatest skateboarder of all time. SOME FINAL WORDS: Skateboarding is an awesome sport. I love it, and I think everyone should give it a shot. by Sebi Blackman
Hi, I am Sebi, if you like hockey you might recall the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup in 2022. Here is what happened: The clock was winding down, then Artturi Lehkonen shot and scored halfway into the second period. There was no way that the Tampa Bay Lighting could score. After the game, the players took turns skating with the cup. A few days later there was a big parade in Denver. That was the 3rd cup they had won. It was a major victory and I saw it on T.V. Anyway, after the celebration the Avalanche have not been doing well due to injuries, and because of that the Avalanche have already lost 5 games in a row. But the Stanley Cup was a major victory. .by Dylan Wyatt (MES alumna, 6th grader at Blaine K-8)
Chapter 1, Part 1 A piece of paper was dropped on Mark's desk snapping him out of his thoughts. “Another robbery.” A female voice said as Mark looked up to see a red headed girl around Mark's age -19 to 20- her hair was in a braid down her back. She wore the same uniform as Mark, all black suit with a star patch that said in gold letters “The Agency of Magic.” She was obviously tired like she had not slept in weeks. “What was it this time and any leads?” Mark asked tired of the theft wave already. “The Dimond of vigil.” The women responded, “and yes. We have some leads this time. First: we have video prof of the thief attacking guards… but they all claim they do not remember the entire night. But here is the good news” she said. “We think we know when and where the thief will strike next.” She said pausing for affect. “Well, were?” Mark asked visibly lighting up. “We think they will go for…” she paused for more affect “here!” she said “What!” Mark said as his face paled a little, “here? Why?” Mark asked after thinking it over. “Because-” the sound of a vase falling and hitting the floor interrupted her. “Rachel. corner attack?” Mark asked, and Rachel nodded and jumped at a window, it glowed purple then opened as Mark ran to the door and slowly opened it to reduce the sound as he cast a tracking spell. Once he was in the hall the tracking spell found its target and a white glowing outline of a figure appeared and ran in its direction. He ran out the building and saw Rachel get kicked back by the thief, she landed on her feet and mark noticed she had taken the hood off and he noticed who the thief was… “No…” he whispered to himself frozen from shock. “It can’t be…” Rachel murmured louder the Mark and she feel back a little. “Magic?” Mark asked still frozen in place. “I thought you were dead…” he added still not over the shock of seeing her after 9 years. “… who’s magic?” the thief asked, looking at him strangely. Like she should recognize him, but she did not. Mark stumbled back. “You… you don’t remember…” he asked, stammering back and she shook her head. The sound of the police cars appeared out of no were and magics is widened with fear… and Mark couldn’t stop the wave of sadness that washed over him… he recognized that fear… she had them the first time she had been close to fireworks… and the first time they went camping and she heard wolves near there campsite… and then a white portal appeared behind her bringing mark back to reality as she stepped in still watching mark closely… and then… the portal closed, and she was gone… just like that, a thief had escaped and it was his fault… all, his, fault… “What were you thinking!” a women much higher ranking then him half yelled half asked him. “I-” Mark started to say but she cut him off. “You know… I do not want to hear it! You let the most wanted thief escape!” she yelled before taking a breath “ugh… dismissed…” she murmured, and Mark stood up and left. |
